Hawaii Need To Know

Hawaii

There are six major islands to visit in Hawaii. Each has its own distinct personality, adventures, activities and sights. Choose one or choose them all, and choose Frontier Travel to make all your arrangements.

Oahu: A Favourite for Families

Known as the “Gathering Place” it is the most popular for travellers because it houses all the vacation staples on one island. World-class restaurants, stunning beaches, great surf, fabulous shopping, and the historic Pearl Harbor.

Maui: Honeymoon Heaven

Like Oahu in terms of vacation staples but without the hustle and bustle. Brimming with beautiful beaches, bars, and resorts, a nature lover's paradise with waterfalls and swimming holes, and a sensational place to do some winter whale watching.

Kauai: For the Adventurer

It’s the rainiest island in the state but don’t let that put you off. If you’re a lover of the great outdoors, this is the island for you. Home to world-famous hiking trails, sea cliffs, and snorkelling spots it also offers some of the state's most spectacular views and camping spots.

Big Island: Best for Nature Lovers

If you’re wanting to do a road trip in Hawaii, the Big Island is the place to do it. It might be the youngest but it is the biggest island in the Hawaiian chain, offering travel through all but four of the world’s different climate zones. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is not to be missed.

Lanai: Rancho Relaxo

The Pineapple Isle as it is still known as is for anyone wanting true R and R. Here you will get away from it all, hit a few balls on the green, head out for a hike or take a dip in the crystal clear tidepools. Be sure to soak in a few sites though, like the WWII tanker wreck near Shipwreck Beach and the moonscape-like Keahiakawelo Garden of the Gods.

Molokai: Aloha Spirit

This island has the reputation for being the “most Hawaiian” of all the islands. It is small, with not one traffic light in sight, and can welcome only an intimate number of tourists each year. It is not fancy but it is friendly and authentic and like the other islands also has amazing sites to offer including Kalaupapa National Historic Park, only accessible by tour.
